Without a network, you are at the mercy of the impersonal web sites. You have confidence that if you can just get a face to face meeting you will be able to present yourself in such a way that would increase you chances for a job. The trick is getting past that web site.
This is where the ward community can make a difference. Many jobs are obtained by who you know. When you have an expanded network, this increases your chance to penetrate that digital curtain and get that face to face interview. True, not every interview result in a job. But each interview dramatically increases your chance.
One of the best things we can do is keep a careful watch on job opportunities that are either developing or available at our workplace and post that information on this site. If you are driving around town and see a business that is hiring, jot down the name and location and post that information on this site. You never know who is looking for a job and how your contribution can help.
By each of us doing our best to pitch in, we expanded network of those working hard to find a job.
