Here is an excerpt from Sister R. Moore’s recent letter home:
First of all, Christmas definitely came early, when Nicole received the best gift one can receive in this life… By choosing to be BAPTIZED she received the precious gift of the Holy Ghost. Oh my, there is such a special spirit that comes along at baptisms. I have never seen her so happy in my life, and the change in her from when we knocked on her door back in September is very distinct. Yes, she has the same sweet personality. However, she has such a desire to follow and come closer to Jesus Christ, and it just shines from her face
Leading up to her baptism was quite the test, however. We heard all week about how Saturday morning was going to be an ice storm. Now, Virginia tends to hype things up when it comes to the weather, and we were just hoping and praying that all would go smoothly and the weather would be nice enough for people to travel. That was really all anyone could talk about all week- and on the ONE morning we cared about. However, we kept praying. When we woke up Saturday morning, it had been raining all night; a freezing rain that no one wanted to go out in. However, we weren’t going to let that stop us, so we continued faithfully with our plans (sorry mom…. I promise I drove safe :)). And somehow, the Lord made everything work out- Satan will never be able to win! At 9:45 everyone necessary had made it to the church safely- only one speaker wasn’t able to make it. And by the time we started, the room was OVERFLOWING with people, who had braved the weather to come out and support Nicole. Yes, we have the BEST WARD. And we even were able to skype Sister Snow in, who couldn’t make it because of the storm! Thank goodness for technology.
