Sister E. Moore: Referrals are the Best

Here is an excerpt from Sister E. Moore’s recent letter home:

So as a missionary you are supposed to ask for referrals from everyone which is actually harder than it sounds because you have so much to remember to say when you’re talking to someone. Of course what you say should be led by the spirit, but it’s still hard to remember. Anyway one day I finally remembered to ask! We were asking everyone when we knocked on there door and up until that point I had always had the response “no I can’t think of anyone right now.” But that is not the response we got from one lady! She pointed out a couple of her neighbors who might be interested in hearing our message! So we started with her next door neighbor who she said was a really sweet older lady. She basically slammed the door in our face. Haha, then we went across the street to the basement of a house where she said a new couple had recently moved and she didn’t know anything about them.

Well Keith opened the door and was very willing to talk! We taught him the restoration and gave him a Book of Mormon. He said he actually had been wanting one for a long time! We then were able to bear our testimonies about how we came to know that the Book of Mormon is true.

It was a really powerful moment. I love being a missionary!
