At the Sermon on the Mount, Christ said the following:
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. – Matthew 5:14-17
I am convinced it is not a coincidence that we are provided frequent opportunities to share our sacred experiences. We let our light shine through the talks we give, public prayers we speak, lessons we teach, and testimonies we share.
We do this because a testimony is best strengthened when it is shared.
To that end, I have added this section to the ward web site. I feel the more we share the small and simple things that we experience in our daily lives as witnesses to God’s tender mercies, the stronger our community will be.
So, here is what I propose:
- Use the Post a Sacred Experience menu item to submit an experience.
- Each submitted post will be automatically e-mailed to me.
- I will post your experience to the site, but be advised, I may add some pictures.
- You will have the option include or exclude your name.
Note: If you do choose to post an experience, I will assume I have permission to publish it on this site.
I look forward to seeing the lights of this ward and community shine brightly on the hill so that all can benefit from hearing about God’s tender mercies.
